Location : Need to show your device's current location on the map

Contacts : The email address associated with your Google Account is required for access

Find My Device is part of Google Play Protect

Assuming your phone is switched off, you'll only be able to see the location where it last pinged Google. It would be enough if your phone was lost rather than stolen. If someone finds and turns on your phone, you can easily ping, lock or factory erase it using Find My Device.
