Advantages of a solar roof scheme
Free electricity: The cost of installing a solar system will pay for itself in about 5 years, after which the additional electricity produced will be available for free for the remaining 20 years, so the system is also very good for investment.
Excess electricity will be purchased by the power company: If more electricity is generated than consumed, it will go to the grid, which will be purchased by the power company for 25 years at a price set by the Electricity Regulatory Commission and a fixed amount will also be paid.
Revenue Enhancement: Units other than your consumption will be purchased by the power company at the rate of Rs 2.2/25/- per unit.
Free maintenance for 5 years: After installing the solar rooftop device, the agency will maintain the system free of charge for 3 years.
How much space is needed to install solar panels?
No more space is needed to install solar panels. This panel can also be installed on the roof of your own house or factory. 1KW of solar energy will require 10 square meters of space.
Who can apply for the Solar Rooftop Scheme?
The solar installation space must be owned by the DISCOM customer or legally owned by the customer
The solar cell and solar module deployed in the solar rooftop system should be manufactured in India, i.e. solar cells and/or modules of non-Indian origin are not eligible for subsidy under this scheme.
Only new plants and machinery will be allowed to be installed and will not be relocated.
