The state government today announced another important scheme. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced an assistance scheme to encourage the use of battery-powered two-wheeler and three-wheelers in cities and towns of the state to prevent air pollution from vehicles.

Under this assistance scheme, the government will provide a support of Rs 12,000 to students studying in college from Std-9 in the state to buy battery-powered two-wheelers. The target is to provide subsidy to 10,000 vehicles. Not only this, the state government will also provide assistance of Rs 48,000 for the purchase of battery-powered e-rickshaw three wheeler for individual and institutional beneficiaries and five thousand e-rickshaws will be given the benefit.


50 lakh rupees scheme will be implemented to set up vehicle charging facility


The Chief Minister gave this eco-friendly gift to the citizens of the state as a Panchsheel gift of the five development schemes of the state to commemorate the 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, a Rs 50 lakh scheme has been implemented for the installation of infrastructural facilities for charging battery powered vehicles. 11 years ago, when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he formed the Climate Change Department. Many programs were organized to commemorate the foundation day of the department.


Gujarat is a leader in the solar system in the country

Addressing the function organized through video-conferencing, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat is moving ahead with green energy and clean energy. Today, when the effects of climate change have become a challenge for the whole world, years ago, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi created the Department of Climate Change for the first time in the country keeping in mind the future challenges. Gujarat is a leader in the solar system in the country.



 Gujarat is the state which receives maximum sunshine for twelve months. Our goal is to generate electricity from sunlight and provide cheap electricity to the citizens, as well as generating electricity on the roofs of our homes and selling additional power to generate revenue. This is the reason why the solar rooftop project has become the hallmark of Gujarat.


Target to install solar system on 2 lakh residential homes this year

The Chief Minister further said that Gujarat ranks first in the country in installing solar system on residential homes. In the last three years, a total of 510 MW solar systems have been installed in more than 1 lakh 38 thousand households with government subsidy assistance. In the current year also Rs. With a provision of Rs 912 crore, 2 lakh residential houses are to be equipped with solar systems.

He further said that Gujarat is also a leader in renewable energy. The total installed capacity of new electricity in the state is 35,500 MW. Renewable energy accounts for 30 percent of Gujarat's total installed capacity, which is more than the national average of 23 percent.


Effective implementation of unconventional energy prevents approximately 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere during the year and saves 10 million tons of coal for electricity generation.
